Memoir
Today, I have written two chapters and 4,000 words on my memoir titled, Finding A New Life, because that is exactly what I had to do after my diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. The writing is going great and memory lane can be a little emotional for me. I am about to enter into 1998 with my memoir where a tragic accident happened that will never leave my mind.
Writing this memoir is a dream come true for me.When I got the idea to write a book in 2008, my first thought was to write a book on my life, so it started that way, but it did not last long before it was filled with fiction. My life was going great, and then boom MS happens, life happens, heartbreak happens, so Finding A New Life is exactly what I did, what I am doing now.

K. A. Taylor's Biography (Detailed)
Biography
K. A. Taylor also known as Katrina Ann Taylor was born on February 24, 1981 in Meridian, MS to David and Shirley Taylor. Taylor was raised in a small nearby town as an only child. At the age of 8, Taylor began piano lessons, the later dance and gymnastics at Newton County Dance and Gymnastics where Taylor continued lessons until the age of 15. Taylor has won numerous awards in all three areas and had thoughts of attending a school in PA for Arts.
At the age of 18 Taylor lost her father to a stroke on Christmas Day 1999 before the family had completely unwrapped all of the gifts to each other. Soon after the death of Taylor's father, she married to Newell Palmer soon after and had a son October 2000 and named him after her father, David. Taylor divorced soon after the birth of her son and continued college at East Central Community College working toward a nursing degree, originally wanted to be a neurologist.
At the age of 22, Taylor graduated from Meridian Community College from the registered nurse program. Immediately after graduation Taylor worked on the women's unit at a St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Taylor rotated through different units toward the end of her two years to gain much experience to eventually leave St. Dominic Hospital to travel nurse. While working at St. Dominic, Taylor married March 26, 2004 to Mark Hale in New Orleans, LA. September 1, 2004, they had a son, Nathan Hale.
June 5, 2005 Taylor and her family began the travel nursing experience. Taylor’s first assignment was for a 13 week contract in Little Rock, AR.
Multiple Sclerosis
Memorial Weekend 2006 Taylor had her first symptom of multiple sclerosis while working at a hospital in Phoenix, AZ; she woke up with her entire left leg numb and tingling. She ignored her symptoms and went on to work for her regular shift as a post-surgical nurse. Taylor was soon sent to the emergency room after her morning shift began since the numbness and tingling was spreading up her body. She was then admitted to the hospital on a telemetry unit for tests and treatment of a complicated migraine.
The month of June went well for Taylor and she moved to Gilbert, AZ to work for Banner Health in Mesa, AZ. Taylor was assigned to Mesa Hospital, but she would also work at the other three facilities in Mesa and did travel back to Phoenix for a few shifts.
July 2006, Taylor became sick again with numbness of her right left and severe migraines which her left to cancel many of her scheduled shifts. Taylor soon went downhill with her health with difficulty walking, dizziness, fatigue, migraines, numbness/tingling from the waist down. Taylor worked until she collapsed at the nurses’ station. She was taken to the emergency room by her husband, Mark Hale on August 1, 2006 and she was then diagnosed with multiple sclerosis by a MRI, Lumbar Puncture, and physical assessment were all abnormal. Multiple lesions were discovered. Taylor’s MRI was not abnormal just a few months prior to her diagnosis.
September 2006 Taylor and her family moved back to her hometown in Mississippi. “MS brought me back MS” jokes Taylor. Taylor and her family moved in with her mother, Shirley. Taylor tried time and time again to go back to work but failed until her August 2007 attempt at a facility in Meridian, where she worked for nine months until the day in April 2008 when her legs quit working while at work. Taylor was wheeled off the floor in her own wheelchair.
Mark and Taylor separated August 2008, when he left her taking both sons because of Taylor’s severe depression and nervous breakdowns from her illness. The divorce was final February 4, 2009.
April 28, 2008, Taylor was declared disabled by her physicians. Taylor finally won social security disability after three denials and one appeal with the help of her lawyer in February 16, 2010.
Writing
Taylor wrote her first book, Accidentally Awake: Tragedies beginning July 2008 when she originally wanted to write a book about her life. Taylor wrote about her father’s death January 3, 2000 and then turned her story fiction soon after the first few chapters in her book. It took Taylor eight months to write Accidentally Awake: Tragedies.
“I named my book Accidentally Awake: Tragedies because that is the way I felt, accidentally awake. It was like my life was not my own anymore. I was watching from the outside as this movie was playing and I had no control over it, my own life,” writes Taylor.
While inpatient seeking treatment for her nervous breakdown before her divorce from Mark was final, Taylor began writing poetry. Taylor says, “Writing in my journal helped me live, so did writing my feelings through my poems helped me survive through this mess of my life.”
After Taylor’s boyfriend left her, she decided not to become depressed but to write a book of 50 poems since the company which published, Accidentally Awake: Tragedies also published poetry. Taylor wrote 30 poems in one week, she finished her poems late September 2009 in which she began the book with only 11 poems in August 2009. She titled her book of actually 52 poems, From Inspirational Thoughts to the Heart’s Struggles.
Recently, Taylor has been working on a second Accidentally Awake, subtitled Loneliness. While working on her new book, she has also written and published a total of 51 poems in which she titled, Deep Emotions of Reality.
Taylor is now focusing on finishing Accidentally Awake: Loneliness. Taylor has rekindled her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Chad Case and Nathan lives primarily with his father, Mark. Taylor has full-custody of her older son, David.

Monday Has Been Busy!
Monday has been filled with much writing on my new book, Accidentally Awake: Loneliness.
Olivia finds herself heartbroken nine years after the beginning of the tragedies that she has faced. Soon, her heartbreak becomes overwhelming for her to create a profile online, not really expecting much from the website. She soon finds herself is a complicated situation that leaves her fearing the new in her life or has her past come back to get her for the second time??
So far today, I have written over a thousand words. I also decided to write my story of how I became to be interested in writing.

Deep Emotions of Reality!
Newest book of poems, fifty-one total for this collection.
There are six categories of poems, which include family, thinking, spoken words, sadness and secrets, love and happiness, and difficulties in relationships. Any one poem could happen to any person during their lifetime, which brings deep emotions.
Now, we are here again, getting our second chance, feeling complete in my heart
Every time I need you, you are willingly there for me, taking my breath away.
We hold on tight to each other and our second chance, we promise to never part,
Smiling as you are always with me, I am within you each minute of every day.
- “Our Second Chance”
I am very excited and cannot wait to get my copy of this book!
Now I am completely concentrating on Accidentally Awake: Loneliness! I have Part 1 and 2 are already outlined with ideas and most of my characters are profiled :) Cannot wait to get into this new book! Also, I am excited to be working with Microsoft Office 2010!!

Update on Writing
Update, Update, Update...
Today, I received an email that all documents were received and all looked okay with the publishing company for my newest book (of poems). Deep Emotions of Reality. In the same email I was told since I still have a book that has not been released that my new book would be put on hold and not released for six months. This news disappointed me a little, but after reading on I saw where I am able to put a rush on the production of the new book, which I opted in to do.
Accidentally Awake: Loneliness has ideas keep coming and coming... Now writing the book into parts with chapters also :)
:D today has been productive overall :D

Wednesday, Wednesday
Today was... What a day! I am getting the materials ready to submit to the publishing company, doing the author questionnaire today. While I was taking a break from the "writing" thing, I decided to organize my files in my documents. When I was finished, I was happy that I have every nice and neat in my documents. I wanted to take another look at the author questionnaire, but I couldn't find it in my computer anywhere!! I looked in the recycling bin, it wasn't there either! I found the blank form, and yes, I have to do it all over again. What fun that was.
The author questionnaire is a form where the author answers: legal name, pen name, book title, book genre, address, social security number, phone number.... that type of stuff. Which none of that was any trouble to do over. But also on the questionnaire is where the author writes what to put on the back of the book, the synopsis and author biography - with word limits. That part is what I didn't want to do over again, because I was pleased with what I had written already.
Also no book today :( I am calling tomorrow to hopefully find out if it was shipped and/or when it was shipped. I am thinking it may have gotten lost somewhere in the mail or perhaps somebody stole it. Anything is possible. I am so anxious to see my first book of poems!
Cover art is going well, Mother has it almost ready. When she completes the art, I will submit it all to the publishing company. So exciting!
I am going to review Accidentally Awake: Loneliness tonight. I have a few ideas and I'm going to write those down right now before I forgot anything :)

Reviewing, Reviewing... Surprise
Today was interesting in the writing world. Journaling all day just so I will not forget a detail of what has happened. I spent a majority of today reviewing (again) the poems for my latest book. I did change some of them a little. I must stop reviewing or I will not ever stop changing the words up.
Also reviewing Accidentally Awake: Loneliness...
I received a coupon code for 55% discount and free shipping. I discovered my book of poems in an Ebook form. Curiousity got me, so I downloaded it. It is the first poems of my book, it looks great from what I could tell about it. The discount code applied to the Ebook, so it was a little over $1.
Tomorrow I am expecting an email from the publishing company and I am so curious as to what it will be about...

Fifty Poems Submitted!!
Yesterday, I was invited to submit my book of fifty poems. Today was spent reviewing, revising, editing, and much reading carefully through every poem. Mother reviewed the poems since my eye is giving me problems. My right eye is the blurry eye with dark images around whatever I am looking at, this is a little scary.
Tonight I submitted the poems exactly the way I intended, The title of the book of 50 poesm is...
My Thoughts, My Feelings with six categories that we all visit within out lifetimes.

Finally Fifty!
Yay! Go ME! Finally I have my grand total of fifty poems for my book titled, My Thoughts, My Feelings. I have divided the fifty poems into six categories which are: Matters of the Family, Sadness and Secrets, My Thoughts, Love and Happiness, Spoken Words, and Relationship Difficulties.
These poems are dedicated to everyone doing their best to live life the best way possible. Not always is it easy to get through the everyday struggles that life sometimes brings, and there are poems that discuss this as well as those incredible moments where we want to scream our exciting news to the world. Memories are another part of life that we keep well protected or either wishing for amnesia, which there are poems on this as well.
My Thoughts, My Feelings .... is a book much like my newly released book of poems, From Inspirational Thoughts to the Heart's Struggles. Both connect with many, many people and are modern-day poems, very easy to clearly understand and relate to no matter which poem it is that is being read.
Family is defintely a big hit in My Thougths, My Feelings...

Wonderful Mother
You are the most wonderful person that I know,
You are always so very busy, always on the go.
Beautiful on the inside and outside, you are rare
Feelings for others, more than yourself, always fair.
Hard-working too many days of the week, no break
To rest, to have fun without your children, you never take.
Always giving without a first thought, pasting a smile
Even on the days that are not so good, happy for a while.
Always caring with a warm heart and full of second chances,
Buying for everyone but yourself, always dealing with finances.
At the end of the day, you are tired but still make time for us.
For laughter, for sadness, never dismissing us to discuss anything
On your mind, always hear every word, you are everything.
Wonderful, patient and most importantly you are always you,
No matter what is in your life, you are great for all that, you do.

Six Categories Leads to a Title!
Tonight I have taken a break, at least for night, from writing my last nine poems. I have divided my 41 poems into six categories, which is exciting. Each category is named with at least two words and is an overview of what the group of poems are about.
Reviewing the titles of the categories, I have chosen a title for my new book of poems. Which I will reveal very soon :)
My total number of poems will be at least 50 poems, but I am giving myself a rest from writing and focusing on working with what I already written. As I add a poem to the category, I am editing it as I go along.
This is exciting!

New Poems, New Idea
My Mischevious Boy is a poem written about a young boy who is always into everything! He is growing up wanting to know and see it all. My Father, My Friend is written while thinking of my father. Remembering the father very well while holding memories after the father has passed away. I Have Had Enough is much like the title, talking about a guy who wants everything but is not willing to give himself completely.
Those are the three poems that I wrote last night while thinking about the world and all the sadness that happens. Sadness that can come from a break-up, divorce, death, or people that fall out of lives.
Accidentally Awake: Loneliness, is well going through a new layout of events as I have had some more ideas and maybe taking this story a different direction. I will definitely be giving updates!

My Ideas in Writing
Ideas, Ideas, and More Ideas! My ideas for writing young-adult and poetry come to me out of nowhere. While washing the dishes, sweeping the floor, or doing laundry I will have an idea hit me for a new poem or a scene in my books. I take a notebook everywhere that I go since ideas can hit me anywhere at anytime. While dining out, I have been asked why I am carrying a basket with me. I reply that I write and I carry it for ideas as they can come to me often and I do not want to miss any of my ideas.
Other notebooks that I keep is for journaling. Parts of my life can also give me ideas for a scene in my book or a new poem. I take some of my life experiences, dreams, and even my creative imagination and use those for my writing. Of course I dramatize my writing when taking from my life so it is fiction but based on a solid foundation that can relate to life very well.

From Inspirational Thoughts to the Heart's Struggles
Inspirational Thoughts to the Heart's Struggles in a book of 52 poems with eight categories. Recently found out the the book of poems has been released. I was thrilled to receive the email regarding my book of poems. The poems in the book are modern-day styled discussing many, many topics the people today face at one point in their life, usually many poems can relate to lives lived in today's time. Here is an example:
My Painful Steps
The steps of my life has been long,
The pain I have seen is all very wrong,
Tears from eyes has been plentiful,
My words have not always been beautiful.
When and why is what I continue to ask,
Trying to hide behind the invisible mask,
My heart has made another sad mistake,
After all the pain, I remain wide awake.
Disaster will remain in my strangest mind,
Closing the coldness, I wish I could rewind,
Disturbed images play in my dreams at night.
Please, when will I get these images right?
Lighting the candle for some comfort and light,
Chills flow through the air as I close my eyes tight.
Will I be at peace with comfort in my mind and heart?
Willing to see when I will find what I am missing, is my part.

Accidentally Awake: Tragedies
This is my very first book that I ever wrote. The writing began summer 2009 when I was too sick to work and I had always wanted to write a book about my life. I began writing it like a diary type format, but then realized that I should not do that, then I begin writing dialoge, the one thing I thought I could not do. This book began with events from my life but then it turns completely fiction.
Accidentally Awake is the story of a young girl named Olivia. Olivia is 18 when this book begins and she grows up and battle difficutlties within her life throughout this book and the continuation.Olivia began seeing visions, hearing songs, and has the most disturbing dreams which begin after the sudden death of he father, Dalton. Olivia's mother, Rachelle tries her best to help her daughter but there is nobody who can help Olivia except for herself.
